Background: Despite growing up in Houston, I was singularly focused on going to college and majoring in animal husbandry. I received my BS at Texas Tech and my MS at Texas A&M. After working in the cattle industry for 5 years, I then returned to Houston for my second and third careers. When I retired, my mother suggested that I take up painting. My mother was a painter in Fredericksburg. I took lessons from a renowned painter in Lake Jackson, Julia Crainer for a year and discovered that I really enjoyed painting and using my creative nature. I love returning to my “roots” by painting cowboys, old trucks and livestock.
